New York State Turfgrass Association Scholarships – Several available
Eligibility: The candidate must be a member of the New York State Turfgrass Association. The candidate must be currently enrolled, and enrolled for the coming semester as a sophomore, junior, or senior, at a four-year college or university, or a second-year student at a two-year college. In either case, the candidate must be working towards a degree in turfgrass science or a closely-related curriculum (i.e. landscape design, landscape construction, landscape maintenance, agricultural engineering, soil science, pathology/horticultural science) where the applicant has taken all relevant turfgrass management courses, as demonstrated by the applicant’s transcript. Preference will be given to students attending a school within New York State, although this is not a requirement.

Hahn Memorial Scholarship – Several available

New York Farm Bureau Agricultural Youth Scholarship – Several available
Eligibility: Candidate must live or work on a farm, be a graduating High School Senior who will continue their education for a career in some way connected to the agricultural industry. Family or Student Farm Bureau membership is required.

Capital Region Golf Course Owners Association (CRGCOA) Scholarship - $1,000 (2 available)
Eligibility: For College Bound or Trade School Students who have a sincere interest in golf and are committed to study at a particular school. Candidate must be a goal oriented individual. Preference given to residents of New York’s capital region.

New York State Golf Association – Financial Need Scholarship
Eligibility: A candidate must have either served a minimum of one season in “service to golf” at an NYSGA member club, or be a junior golfer that either belongs to an NYSGA member club, or competes in NYSGA junior or adult competitions. Candidate must establish financial need by submitting copies of the FAFSA, SAR, parents and personal income tax returns and financial aid decisions. Candidate must also have applied to or attend a university, college or accredited trade school, and must demonstrate scholastic ability by submitting ACT/SAT scores and high school and/or college transcripts. Graduate students are NOT eligible to apply.

Northeastern Golf Course Superintendents Association – Ken Stevens Memorial Scholarship - $1,500
Eligibility: Candidate must be a member of the NEGCSA, immediate family member of a NEGCSA member, or be employed by a NEGCSA member. Candidate must be a matriculated student in at least their third year of a recognized four-year Turfgrass management school, in their second year of a recognized two-year Turfgrass management school, or completing their second year of at least a two-year short course program. Applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 the semester prior to the application to be considered.

Northeastern Golf Course Superintendents Association Legacy Scholarship - $1,000
Eligibility: Candidate must be a member or dependent of a member in good standing. Candidate must be a matriculated student in at least their third year of a Bachelors Degree (non-turf) or in their second year of an Associates Degree (non-turf). Applicant must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 the semester prior to the application to be considered.

Long Island Horticultural Society – James and Mary Lee Fuller Scholarship for Horticultural Studies - $1,000 (3 available)
Eligibility: Must be a resident of Long Island, be a matriculated (part-time or full-time) student in a horticulture program, have an interest in pursuing a career in horticulture and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Men’s Garden Club of Albany - $500
Eligibility: The scholarship is available to a full-time student currently enrolled, or accepted to begin a college program, with the intent to pursue studies in a horticultural-related field; such as landscaping, agriculture, environmental studies, ecology, forestry or natural resources management. It is open to both male or female applicants of any age, preferably with home residency in the seven-county area of the Capital Region.

Eligibility: Must be local to central New York studying and working in the green industry.

WNY Nurserymen's Association Foundation DBA PLANT WNY Foundation (Awarded twice a year)
Eligibility Criteria – Must reside in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara, Orleans or Wyoming Counties. Though not requirements, the following guidelines will be considered for students seeking scholarship eligibility:
1. Enrollment in a horticultural related program at the accredited college
2. Academic excellence
3. Recommendation from a member firm
4. Having worked in a nursery/landscape related industry, preferably with our Region
5. Financial need
6. Professor recommendation
7. Extracurricular activities in school and community
8. Essay written on application as to importance of his/her scholarship toward attaining future goals
9. Show a positive desire to work in Region 6
